Remington 700 Etronx was a unique approach to a high tech bolt action.

The Etronx action is electrically fired.  Powered by a 9V battery;  it incorporates a computer in the stock that controls the firing system. Brass is primed with an electrically activated primer, then loaded with a normal charge of powder and projectile. The trigger is a micro switch that is fully adjustable. The safety consists of on-off switch which disconnects power to the firing pin. There are no moving parts in the bolt. The firing pin is an anode that connects to the primer. The rifle achieves ultra fast lock time of 27 microseconds, eliminating mechanical strike delays.

Remington manufactured these rifles from 2000 to 2003,  Unfortunately they were ahead of their time and weren’t well received by shooter who didn’t trust an electronic rifle.

This rifle is unfired, in the original box.  Chambered in the desirable .22-250 cartridge, this is the ultimate varmint rifle.  Built on the Sendero style platform, it possesses a 26″ fluted barrel.   The original box has some handling damage consistent with sitting on the shelf for 25 years.
